On the National Sustainability Day (25 September), we celebrate the commitment of the INOV.AM Agenda to sustainable development and reflect on the fundamental role of innovation in building a more balanced and responsible future. The INOV.AM Agenda, with its 71 entities, has been an example of how additive manufacturing innovation can directly contribute to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our work impacts:
- SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) – by promoting safer and more efficient processes;
- SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality) – through the training of professionals and promoting diversity in the innovation sectors;
- SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) – by incorporating sustainable solutions and more efficient practices;
- SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) – with the development of new technologies that contribute to creating decent jobs of high quality while promoting the reduction of social inequalities (SDG 10);
- SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) – by fostering industrial innovation and new additive manufacturing technologies;
- SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) – commitment to sustainability and material and process innovation, with a focus on practices that generate positive environmental, economic, and social impacts;
- SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) – bringing together companies, universities, and research centres to ensure a positive global impact.
We highlight within the INOV.AM Agenda, WP23 – Innovation and Sustainability Management – dedicated to conducting a sustainability analysis of the consortium. Using indicators such as greenhouse gas emissions, incorporation of recycled materials, recycling rates, number of highly skilled jobs, and number of training actions, among others, we will assess the consortium’s sustainable performance.
The INOV.AM Agenda remains committed to aligning innovation and sustainability, contributing to a more sustainable future for all.
